TOURNAMENT INFO

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF FORTRESS OCE MASTERS?

Open Qualifiers

Each open qualifier is a 64 team single elimination bracket with the top 2 from each qualifying for Group Stage. All rounds except qualifying matches are best of 1, qualifying matches are best of 3.

Group Stage

The 4 teams from Open Qualifiers who qualified for Group Stage along with 4 invited teams will play in 2 x 4 team GSL groups playing best of 1. The top 2 teams from each group qualify for the Finals.

LAN Finals

The 4 teams who qualified for the LAN Finals will be flown to Melbourne and placed into a single elimination bracket. The two semi finals matches will be played on day one, the Grand Final will be played on day two. All matches are best of 3.

WHAT IS THE MAP VETO PROCESS?

Open Qualifiers

The map veto process will occur automatically through FACEIT where teams will alternate banning maps until one map is remaining.

Group Stage – Best-of-one (BO1)

The higher seeded Team will choose whether to be Team A or Team B in the following system:

1. Team A will ban one map.
2. Team B will ban one map.
3. Team A will ban one map.
4. Team B will ban one map.
5. Team A will ban one map.
6. Team B will ban one map.
7. The remaining map is played.

Finals – Best-of-three (BO3)

The higher seeded Team will choose whether to be Team A or Team B in the following system:

1. Team A will ban one map.
2. Team B will ban one map.
3. Team A will pick the first map.
4. Team B will pick the second map.
5. Team A will ban one map.
6. Team B will ban one map.
7. The remaining map will be played third if needed.

DO I NEED ANTI-CHEAT INSTALLED TO PLAY IN THE OPEN QUALIFIERS?

Yes, all players will need to download and install FACEIT Anti-Cheat to participate in the Open Qualifiers. This can be downloaded here.

DO I NEED TO CHECK-IN FOR OPEN QUALIFIERS?

Yes, teams need to check in on FACEIT from 12:50 PM – 1:50 PM on the day of their Open Qualifier. 

Teams who do not check-in during this time will be removed from the Open Qualifier.

WHAT IS THE DISQUALIFICATION TIME CUT OFF BEFORE A MATCH START?

In the Open Qualifiers, once teams have completed the map veto process, they have 5 minutes to connect to their match before disqualification

In the Group Stage and Finals, a Team will be deemed to have committed a “No Show” if, after fifteen (15) minutes following the scheduled Match start time, all five (5) starting players are not present at the Playing Area and Match Ready.

 

WHAT SCRIPTS CAN I USE?

Except for buy, toggle and jump, all scripts are prohibited. If a player is unsure on the validity of a script, they should contact the Tournament Officials before usage. So called “Jumpthrow” binds are specifically allowed.

WHAT DO THE WINNERS OF THE GROUP STAGE RECEIVE?

The top 4 teams who progress to the LAN Finals at Fortress Melbourne will have flights and accommodation provided by Fortress for 5 players and 1 substitute. The substitute chosen can also be the coach.

 

WHAT DOES THE WINNER OF FORTRESS OCE MASTERS RECEIVE?

The winning team will qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown (Location TBC). 

Flights for 5 players and 1 substitute will be provided by Fortress, and a bootcamp including accommodation is provided by BLAST.

WILL THE GAMES BE BROADCAST?

Both Groups and the LAN Finals of the Fortress OCE Masters will be broadcast on the Fortress Melbourne Twitch Channel.

Open Qualifiers will not be broadcast.

 

ARE PLAYERS ALLOWED TO STREAM THEIR MATCHES?

In the Open Qualifiers, players can stream their matches with at least a 3 minute delay.

In the Group Stage, matches are not allowed to be streamed. There will be an official stream on the Fortress Melbourne Twitch channel which covers every Fortress OCE Masters match.

REGISTRATION INFO

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR FORTRESS OCE MASTERS?

A player from your team will need to:

A) Fill out the selected qualifier registration form found on the homepage on behalf of their team.

B) Follow the link after you have submitted your qualifier registration form to sign up the team on the FACEIT tournament page.

Both of these steps will need to be done to be registered for the event, and team names and player gamertags will need to match across both.

WHEN DO REGISTRATIONS CLOSE?

Both the Fortress registration form and FACEIT tournament registration must be complete by Friday 19th August at 5:00 PM.

CAN I COMPETE IN BOTH OPEN QUALIFIERS?

Yes, your team can register and compete in one or both Open Qualifiers.

If you wish to compete in both Open Qualifiers you will need to fill out the form for each qualifier separately. 

HOW MANY PLAYERS CAN I HAVE ON MY TEAM?

Teams can consist of up to 5 starting players, and 2 substitute players. 

A Team Coach will automatically be considered as a third substitute player.

WHAT IS THE SUBSTITUTE PROCESS?

In the Open Qualifiers, team captains can swap players with substitutes on their team at the start of each match through FACEIT.

During the Group Stage, if a Player(s) incurs a serious issue (e.g. internet issues, power outage etc.) that cannot be resolved quickly, their Team may request a substitution from their pre-approved Submitted Roster. This substitution request is at the discretion of the Tournament Operations Manager.

During the Finals, a team may request a substitution. This substitution request is at the discretion of the Tournament Operations Manager.

 

HOW DO I CHANGE MY TEAM INFORMATION?
