PAX Australia 2019: Wrap Up

PAX Aus is one of a kind event where community meets gaming in a celebratory three-day festival! Both international and locals travel to the Melbourne CBD to get their hands on the latest digital games, gain insights from industry leaders and check out the other awesome programs. If you love games, pop culture or cosplay, you’re likely to find a community that shares the same passion at PAX.

If you’ve ever attended any PAX event, you may have noticed the influence of pin culture – pin trading, pin selling and even pin panels! This is why, in the spirit of PAX, we gave out free limited edition Fortress pins as a small gift to those who signed up to our mailing list!

All weekend, our booth attracted cosplayers from a variety of games! Our LED screen was the perfect spot to grab a neon-lit photograph. If you came at the right time, you may have gotten photographed by the talented cosplay photographer, Jarod Burns!

Cosplay from left to right: Bowsette by @MeiAtPlay, Night Elf Druid by @SkyHuntressWrites, Tifa by @TheGemCosplay, Linkle by @AmmePlays and V by @LucidInRapture.

All hands were on deck running the Fortress booth, but our team managed to squeeze in some time to explore the exhibition! Supporting grassroots projects is a key pillar for us. This is why we scoured the Indie Showcase floor to get our hands on upcoming titles developed by local Australian talent.

Some of the hit games among the group were the co-op madness game Cybermonk, the unique dating simulator Best Friend Forever and the relaxing puzzle game, Unpacking.

If you didn’t have the chance to come down and visit us, you watch our interviews with Pixel Shift and Player One! We also teamed up with Heaven Media to create a vox pop series on gamers – check out the full playlist below!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, grabbed a pin and snapped a photo at our booth!

What’s next for us? Well, we’re hitting the ground running on creating the biggest gaming hub in Australia! In the meantime, keep an eye out for official announcements and sneak peeks!
